You are evidence.

“And Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel: ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.”

- ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭19‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭(New King James Version)‬‬

I had two people send me the song “Evidence” by TRIBL featuring Naomi Raine within a short period of time so I figured God was trying to tell me something but when I listened to it both times I still wasn’t getting it. It wasn’t until the third listen, while I was wrestling through some procrastination, that I realized it was what she was saying in the first 1:15, before the song actually starts, that God was trying to get me to hear. She spoke to how God had given her a word years ago that she was now living in and now He wanted her to “believe for the more” in her current season so He could do another mighty work in her life.

This hit me because I was procrastinating on sending my next book’s manuscript to my interior book designer and—knowing in the past I’d identified one of my procrastination triggers being that deep down I don’t have faith about whatever that work is supposed to accomplish—I needed to encourage myself that this book will be as much of a blessing as the first one was, all because of the work I did today to move it forward. Her words at the beginning of the song reminded me that, just like God led me to write my first book and it yielded tremendous fruit in my life and in the lives of so many others, He’s leading me now with this one and it will be impactful again. The same God that led me then is leading me now and I can stand confidently on His leading in my life because of the evidence I have and am.

This scripture speaks so beautifully to how God prompts us to remember what He’s done in our lives in the past. Whatever your “Egyptians” were, you’ve seen how He handled them. And you’ve experienced how He “bore you on eagle’s wings” through that previous situation. He did it before and He will do it again. Take a second now to remember the answered prayers you’re currently living in. You yourself are living, breathing evidence that God can and He will do it again.
